Topic: Gauging Safety Culture in the Workplace

Does your organization have a safety culture? To what level does that culture exist? Is “safety culture” a descriptive term used by management or a belief held by all employees? In my presentation, I will provide the definition of a safety culture and what that means from the viewpoint of a safety professional but more importantly we will discuss some of the methods to use for gauging an organization’s safety culture.

Speaker Bio: Timothy Grebe is a Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality professional with over twenty-six years of experience in the upstream oil and gas equipment manufacturing and service sector. His career began as a machinist where he found a passion for work place safety and the company’s safety programs. Moving into Health, Safety and Environmental management he quickly gained a track record of reducing workplace injuries. Some of which include; eliminating OSHA recordables injuries by an average of fifty-four percent within the first year and achieving 7.8 million hours without a lost time injury. From a HSE support role to management executive, Timothy has worked for various employers including FMC Technologies, Vetco Gray, Axon Energy Products and Proserv Operations as well as several companies in the areas of welding, fabrication, material supply, specialty engineering and Subsea BOP control systems.

Timothy, a native Houstonian, is the owner of TQS Consulting, LLC providing solutions to companies in the areas of Quality, Health, Safety, Environmental program implementation and support.
