Speaker: James Shelton, M.S.; OSHA Compliance Assistance Specialist

Topic: OSHA & Houston Update: Review of OSHA Initiatives & Areas of Emphasis with a Look at Houston Specific Incident Data

Speaker Bio: James Shelton is the Compliance Assistance Specialist (CAS) at the OSHA Houston North Area Office. The CAS is a non-enforcement position within OSHA responsible for outreach, training, and assistance to employees, employers, and industry groups. Mr. Shelton has been with OSHA for 19 years: Eleven years as the CAS and eight years as an OSHA inspector conducting hundreds of worksite inspections and numerous fatality investigations. Mr. Shelton has a M.S. Degree in Safety Management and a B.S Degree in Industrial Safety and Industrial Security both from Central Missouri State University.
