Free Fall Prevention Plan and Training

Posted: Feb 02, 2018

UHCL (University of Houston -Clear Lake) is offering a FREE fall prevention plan workshop in February and March.  There are three dates and locations.

The first workshop UHCL will provide a model plan and help employers develop a fall prevention plan that meets their needs.  Later they will provide train-the-trainer and worker training courses.

  1. Fall prevention plan workshop – we provide a functional plan (60 pages) with forms and checklists (7.5 hours) – Staring late February
  2. Train-the-trainer workshop (7.5 hours) – Starting late March or April
  3. Facilitated worker training via trainers with our oversight (2 hours) – Starting mid-April

It is a top down approach to fall prevention in construction, designed to help contractors and small businesses implement an effective program.  The central theme of the plan and training is implementation of a hierarchy of fall prevention efforts and multi-level checks and controls.  The goal is to help employers eliminate or prevent falls, before having to use fall arrest devices that involve the possibility of a fall.  The workshops are designed for smaller businesses, less than 250 employees, but larger organizations are welcome to attend.
